Agro-Line and Agro-Line 4 are cost effective alternatives to galvanized metal wire, which can be hazardous to plants, difficult to transport and challenging to work with. Plastic line has been used in the European agriculture industry for more than 20 years with unparalleled success. And here is why:

    • High tensile polyester monofilament
    • 7 times lighter than steel wire
    • Uses regular wire attachments for installation and tensioning
    • Can be used with any post type
    • Easy to unreel without kinks
    • Does not rust or rot
    • Smooth surface, no sharp edges
    • Saltwater and UV resistant
    • Resistant to fertilizers, sulphates & pesticide
    • Does not conduct electricity
    • Constant tension – No need to re-tighten after installation

Agro-Line is a cost-effective product, made in America, that we are confident will replace many applications where wire was once the only option. For suggestions and more information, please see Product Description below.

    Agro-Line:

    • 12.5 gauge (2.5mm)
    • Tensile strength of 765 lbs
    • Elongation break of 11%
    • Thermal insulators create operating temperature from -40°C to +70°C
    • Guaranteed for 10 years

    Agro-Line 4:

    • 8 gauge (4.0mm)
    • Tensile strength of 1278 lbs
    • Elongation break of 20%
    • Thermal insulators create operating temperature from -40°F to 120°F
    • Life expectancy of 20 years
    • Agro-Line is easier and quicker to install than any galvanized wire used in viticulture, arboriculture and horticulture.

      Agro-Line Uses

      • Wind Breaks
      • Bird Netting Installations
      • Greenhouses
      • Growing Tunnels
      • Shade Net Installations
      • Flower and Ornamental Plant Support
      • Hanging Lines for Drip Irrigation

Not recommended for heavy load bearing applications. To prevent wearing, use proper clips when installing on metal posts.

      Recommended Wire Substitutions

      • Mechanical Harvesters: Perfect for use with mechanical harvesters. The line returns to its initial position without damage or strain and it cushions machinery vibrations. it’s smooth surface makes it easier to remove intertwined tendrils and shoots (while its elasticity absorbs machine vibrations) transmitting only to vines near the harvester zone. This results in better fruit quality.
      • Berries: Can be used as lifting wires, irrigation wires, overhead netting and shade support. Not recommended where there may be exposure to sharp knives, i.e. top wires on a 3 wire raspberry trellis system
      • Raspberries 3-Wire System: Top wire to be galvanized steel, use for lifting wires
      • Blueberries: Use for all wires
      • Grapes: Cordon wires, foliage wires, overhead netting and shade support. Not recommended for fruiting wires. Do not use line on metal posts without protective clips, to prevent chafe damage.
      • Overhead Bird Netting: Use for all wires
      • Greenhouse Support Wires: Use for all wires
      • Manipulation of Foliage: Elasticity allows the lifting wire to be hooked below at the start of the growing season. It can then be lifted without losing any tension. Studies have shown the ease of use is 5-10 times better than wire. Also requires fewer clips or staples to keep the foliage wires together.
